Aymont Technology was founded in 2006 to develop unique semiconductor devices and the materials technology needed to make these devices. Silicon carbide and gallium nitride-based power switching devices can save tens of billions of dollars in energy usage annually over silicon-based devices. Silicon carbide detectors have the capability to supplant photomultiplier tube technology for detection of low levels of ultraviolet light. These devices make unique demands on the starting materials, materials in which we have decades of experience. We chose the company name for good reasons. Aymont is an obscure English word meaning "hard", "stubborn" or "diamond-like". It is a fitting name as these materials are hard, they are diamond-like, and they require game-changing stubbornness to make. We are changing the game by making hard applications easier. |
